Dave Bautista Throws Shade at ‘Fast and Furious’, Says He'd 'Rather Do Good Films’

With Dwayne Johnson and John Cena set to appear in a ninth Fast and Furious film, a fan had pitched to Dave Bautista on Twitter that he should be the villain. What's funny is that Bautista rejected the pitch and says he would "rather do good films."

Specifically, he made it a hashtag:

While this is a fun burn on Bautista's part, a lot of Fast and Furious fans eventually took offense and has been throwing a bunch of Bautista's less-than-stellar movies back at him like Stuber, Escape Plan 2: Hades, and Hotel Artemis.

You have to admit though, besides those duds that some people have been mentioning, Bautista has actually found himself attached to some great franchise. Besides Guardians of the Galaxy, Bautista had also found a role in Blade Runner 2049 and the last James Bond movie, Spectre. Now he's reunited with Denis Villeneuve to work on the Dune movie, and he's also going back to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 next year.

If anything, you can't really tell if a movie is going to be a hit or not, but you have to commend Bautista for trying to be in movies that aren't just generic action flicks. I mean, it must be hard enough for him being a wrestler and being typecast as a brute in almost all his roles. I'm just curious if the Fast and Furious franchise has anything to say about it.

You can catch Bautista in Avengers: Endgame which is still out in theaters.
