A lot of fans are still hopeful that Darth Revan will eventually make his way back to the official Star Wars canon after having been put in the Expanded Universe aka Star Wars Legends. Now, with Lucasfilm clearly reinforcing its product and project slate thanks to the hype and success of The Mandalorian, it's being rumored that the famed video game protagonist will be heading back to the canon and he'll make his epic live-action debut sooner rather than later.

According to a scoop from Corey Van Dyke of Kessel Run Transmissions, the upcoming Disney+ series Star Wars: The Acolyte will feature the much-awaited debut of Revan in the Mandoverse. Appearing on the HoloNet Marauder podcast, Van Dyke reported that the Sith Lord and Jedi will officially be brought back to the canon real soon.

He explained: "If you're a fan of Knights of the Old Republic, Darth Revan will be coming back into canon very soon in something Disney+ related. There's going to be a big push for Sith characters post-Mando. That's going to be Disney's big Disney+ slate, starting with The Acolyte."

Van Dyke also claims that there's already an existing concept artwork that sees Revan in hologram form ala Darth Sidious and Supreme Leader Snoke which has yet to be leaked online and actual plans call for him to eventually get his own solo Disney+ show after his appearance on The Acolyte. "Obviously, the timeline won't match up, but I know for sure there is concept art out there of [Revan] in a hologram, which I believe is for Acolyte. It will kind of tease his own series eventually."

Like any rumor, take this one with a Death Star-sized grain of salt but with Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni overseeing a lot of the stuff that will drop within the Mandoverse, I believe we can all rest assured knowing that the duo who are now being credited to reinvigorating the Star Wars franchise will once again give fans what they want.

Meanwhile, you can get your Star Wars to fix on Disney+.
