While little plot details have been unveiled about Daredevil: Born Again's return to Marvel, a Marvel Studios head teased that the Man Without Fear's show is close to Game of Thrones' problematic aspects.
Daredevil: Born Again Might Be Just As 'Problematic' As Game of Thrones Have
Netflix's version of Daredevil does not have as huge of a bloodbath as HBO's Game of Thrones, but Marvel Studios Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation's Brad Winderbaum shares that fans won't know what's coming to them.
In a recent interview with ABC's The Red Carpet Storytellers Spotlight stage, Winderbaum reiterates what to expect from the Man Without Fear's long-awaited return.
"Imagine if New York City was as intricate and problematic and scary as the world of Game of Thrones," Winderbaum teases, "All these forces vying for control, and it can be really hopeful at times, and really violent at times, and dark — but there's light at the end of the tunnel if you could just fight for it."
The Daredevil reboot is called a "reboot" for a reason. In this case, Born Again is going to be a continuation of what the Netflix show introduced, which is the aftermath of Kingpin discovering Matt Murdock's alter-life as the vigilante by night.
Winderbaum, after all, previously promised that the Man Without Fear series would include more brutality than the former, "I'll tell you, some of the most brutal action we've ever brought to the screen is coming in Daredevil: Born Again, which isn't a horror show, but really it packs a lot of power and there's a lot of visceral action, to say the least."
As the premise suggests, Daredevil: Born Again will follow the story of Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk trying to put their rivalry and alter-egos aside to help the people of New York in their own way.
That is if their past ends up catching them red-handed on their chase for justice.
