Daredevil: Born Again Star Accidentally Reveals Season 2 Renewal

A lot of MCU fans have been looking forward to Daredevil: Born Again. Not only because we will see the return of Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio in their respective roles, but it is expected to consist of 18 episodes, which is far from the usual episode count that we've seen in any other MCU shows.

While the series is still far away from its premiere, there are questions about whether it will get a second season or which other MCU projects will we see the characters after the series wraps. So far, Marvel Studios remains mum about it. However, it looks like the future has already been set according to its star.

Speaking with Newsweek, D'Onofrio may have accidentally slipped that the series will have a second season as he mentioned that there will be some "gigantic payoffs" during the show's sophomore run, which Marvel Studios has not even announced or confirmed yet at the moment.

First, the actor offered some updates about the filming of the series and promised that it will be "very different" than the original Netflix series which excites him.

"We've only just started shooting. I think we're a couple weeks in, and the show is going to be very, very different than the Netflix show, and it's so exciting because what we're doing is quite something," he said.

"I think it's something that people are not going to expect. But, always with these Marvel old comic stories that are being revisited and reinvented by us actors, and the writers, the main thing is to answer the fans."

The actor also added, "To give them what they want but try to be original in some way at the same time, and so that's what we're doing on the show. It's definitely an original way to look at this, and it's really deep, really emotional."

D'Onofrio went on to reveal the unannounced second season, which he promised will payoff what they set up during the first season.

"And, by the second season, there are gigantic, gigantic payoffs—in the first season, too, but I can't say much about that—but the fans are gonna really get what they want. It's really quite cool to be doing it," he teased.

It is very interesting to hear that the series will already have a second season even though they just started filming the first one and Marvel Studios, which is reportedly slowing down their TV content, is already working on one.

There is a possibility that D'Onofio misspoke in his comments and perhaps he was talking about the first season being divided into two parts since it will have whopping 18 episodes. However, it is also just likely that he accidentally revealed it. For now, let's just wait for any confirmation from Marvel themselves soon.
