It may have seemed like a huge pipe dream a few years back but Marvel Studios has officially brought back Charlie Cox as Daredevil and even gave him his own series which reportedly won't be a continuation of the critically-acclaimed Netflix show. Of course, Cox's entry to the Marvel Cinematic Universe opened the possibilities of his Defenders co-stars joining the franchise, and what better way to reintroduce them than by making them appear in Daredevil: Born Again, right?

Well, as much as we hate to burst your bubble, it looks like a fan-favorite Defender won't be involved in Matt Murdock's standalone series. According to insider KC Walsh, Krysten Ritter, who was heavily rumored to be making her return as Jessica Jones in Daredevil: Born Again has been replaced by another hero.

According to Walsh, Jon Bernthal's Punisher will take Jessica Jone's role in the series as scheduling conflicts have prevented Ritter from starring in the project. As it stands, nothing official has been made so take this rumor with a grain of salt. But it would be a huge bummer if Jessica Jones doesn't end up making an appearance on the show.

That's not to say though that Ritter is out of the MCU because according to recent reports, the actress will in fact be joining the billion-dollar franchise, and considering Cox got his own show, it wouldn't be too farfetched to think that Jessica Jones will also be given the same treatment.

Daredevil: Born Again is expected to release in Spring 2024. Meanwhile, Charlie Cox will make a cameo appearance as the Man Without Fear in the upcoming episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
