Cowboy Bebop Star Daniella Pineda Reacts to The Show's Cancellation

Netflix recently announced the cancellation of its live-action adaptation of Cowboy Bebop following the show's debut last month, so fans who are expecting for a second season are shocked to hear about this news while some fans of the original anime are relieved. The reactions to this cancellation are as mixed as the reviews of the show itself, and fans are wondering if Netflix's upcoming live-action adaptation of popular anime shows like Yu Yu Hakusho, One Piece, and Avatar The Last Airbender will suffer the same fate.

Now, Daniella Pineda, who plays Faye Valentine in the series, has shared her reaction on Instagram. The 34-year-old actress shared a bittersweet photo to capture her thoughts on the cancellation of Netflix's Cowboy Bebop, which was announced less than a month since the 10-episode series was released on the streaming platform.

In Netflix's live-action series, a few changes were made to how Faye Valentine met Spike Spiegel (John Cho) and Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir), with the female county hunter running into the duo during the events of the first episode rather than later on, as shown in the original anime. The first season left some open plotlines to be explored in the second season, but with news of its cancellation, it looks like we will never know how they will be resolved.

The final moments of Cowboy Bebop's first season also introduced Ed, played by actor Eden Perkins, the eccentric young hacker who helps Spike capture the villain from the original Cowboy Bebop film, Knocking on Heaven's Door. Sadly, this plot line among many others won't be delved further.
