The first teaser for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker featured Kylo Ren body-slamming someone with his lightsaber, and while some people thought it was just some random character, the new photos from Vanity Fair may have confirmed that he was actually attacking a Knight of Ren.

With Kylo having a connection to the Knights, it's going to be interesting to see why he would go against them. If you look at the shot again in the trailers, the stormtroopers are actually fighting alongside Kylo. Does this mean the Resistance and the First Order will be teaming up to battle a greater evil i.e., the resurrected Palpatine?
Of course, this is just speculation on my part. There could be a bunch of other reasons why Kylo could be attacking a Knight. Then again, it's also possible that it's just a random character that only has clothing similar to a Knight of Ren. I guess all we can really do right now is wait until the film comes out before we can be really sure.
While Vanity Fair has given us a lot of good photos for the upcoming film, everyone is waiting on the release of a full trailer this coming July. TROS has reserved a panel for SDCC 2019, so it's likely that's when we'll get our full preview. Hopefully we're also getting the release of the trailer for Jon Favreau's The Mandalorian, but maybe we don't have to wait until July for that.
