Coffee Prince is one of the most-loved South Korean shows of all time. Many, however, are confused about the show's ending. They wonder what happened to Eun-chan in the end.

The show follows the story of a rich guy falling in love with one of his baristas. Unfortunately, he believes the employee is male, which leads him to question his sexuality throughout the series.

Meanwhile, the barista Ko Eun-chan (played by Yoon Eun-hye), has to keep her gender a secret so she has a job. Otherwise, she needs to do odd jobs to support her family.

When the two finally get together, Choi Han-gyul (played by Gong Yoo) discovers the truth. He feels betrayed and doesn't know how to deal with the realization.

In her heartbreak, Eun-chan decides to study in Italy. But just before leaving, Han-gyul comes to his senses and apologizes to Eun-chan.

Originally, Eun-chan planned to study in Italy for two years. Han-gyul patiently waits for her to return and concentrates on nothing but the cafe.

One day, Eun-chan tells Han-gyul that she has to extend her stay in Italy for another year. The conversation is over the phone, making Han-gyul feel frustrated.

But since he wants to be a supportive boyfriend, he later accepts it and tells her to extend for a year.

While interviewing baristas for the job, Eun-chan surprises Han-gyul by showing up at the cafe. She pretends to be an applicant, and the two soon hug and shower each other with kisses.

On the drive back to the cafe, Han-gyul keeps teasing Eun-chan about marriage. She changes the subject and doesn't answer him. But we can see that deep inside, she is excited about the idea.

The show later closes with Han-gyul serving Eun-chan a cup of coffee that he had prepared. Eun-chan pretends to dislike the taste at first but later gives him a smile and a nod of approval.

The camera then leaves the happy couple sitting by the cafe window they worked so hard on. This implies that the two ended up together, perhaps even married.
