CNBLUE Kang Min Hyuk Tests Positive For COVID-19

CNBLUE Kang Min Hyuk tested positive for COVID-19, his company confirmed.

Sports Kyunghang first confirmed the news through a press release, revealing that Kang Min Hyuk contracted the virus and is currently in isolation. The update shocked fans, especially since the musician and the band have not performed in person in a while.

Following the emergence of the update, CNBLUE and Kang Min Hyuk’s agency shared a statement to give fans an update.

CNBLUE Kang Min Hyuk Positive for COVID-19

On Tuesday, FNC Entertainment released a report saying that the news was true.

The company revealed that Kang Min Hyuk’s PCR test results came back positive on the morning of April 26. He is reportedly suffering from a mild sore throat and currently isolating himself.

Although he received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, Kang Min Hyuk announced the cancelation of his upcoming activities to assure the public’s safety.

“As per the guidelines of health authorities, Kang Min Hyuk will self-quarantine and take all necessary measures. He will get plenty of rest and focus on treatment. We apologize for causing concern, and we will do our best to faithfully comply with the guidelines and requests of the health authorities so that he can recover quickly,” FNC Entertainment went on.

Kang Min Hyuk’s rock band previously expressed their worry about the dreaded virus. At the same time, they found it hard to perform without an audience.

Last year, they performed during the virtual music event, KContact 4U. Kang Min Hyuk said that, while they were able to handle it, it reportedly seemed like they have other challenges to overcome amid the health crisis.

Kang Min Hyuk Expands Acting Career

Aside from being part of a band, Kang Min Hyuk also expanded his career in the acting industry. Last year, he joined MBC’s rom-com, Oh My Lady Lord.

The K-drama tells the story of a top thriller writer and a rom-com actress who “won’t date” and “can’t date,” respectively. Kang Min Hyuk scored the role of Jung Yoo Jin, a chaebol who has a close friendship with actress Oh Ju In in the drama.

“I think I was attracted to Jung Yoo Jin’s unique way of expressing his feelings for Oh Ju In. Jung Yoo Jin is a calm and powerful person. He is more mature than he looks. Sometimes I’m surprised at how confident he is,” he said.

Oh My Lady Lord premiered on Mar. 24, 2021.
