2NE1 debuted with the EP 2NE1 in 2009 with the singles “Fire” and “I Don’t Care” which immediately had the team on top of the domestic and international charts. Specifically, “I Don’t Care” was awarded Song of the Year at the 2009 Mnet Asian Music Awards which made 2NE1 the first-ever idol group to receive a major award (daesang) during the same year of debut.
Now, CL works as a soloist after not renewing her contract with YG Entertainment in November 2019. As soon as she left the agency, she continued releasing tracks under the EP In The Name Of Love for three consecutive weeks.
CL’s latest release is Alpha’s second digital single “Lover Like Me" and "Tie A Cherry."
