As the Chucky TV series prepares to enter its third season, character creator Don Mancini said he is in the early stages of developing and writing a new film featuring everyone’s beloved killer doll.
Don Mancini’s Chucky TV series has been very successful and is about to premiere its third season. However, no official word has been said about whether the character will grace the silver screen again after a remake titled Child's Play, featuring the voice of Mark Hamill, hit theatres in 2019.
Despite that, Mancini gave the Scream Dreams Podcast an interesting update: He is developing the next Chucky feature film.
After being asked by the interviewers to reveal what projects he is currently working on, Mancini quickly replied that he is currently in the “early stages of working on a new Chucky movie.” However, he added no further details and simply stated instead that he just wants to keep working.
In that same interview, the Chucky creator also alluded to a new season beyond the third run of the killer doll’s TV series.
“At this point, though, if it's only Chucky, I'm totally cool with that. I have other things I want to do. I'm working on a new pilot,” he said.
A fourth season might not be too far from the horizon, as the previous seasons of Don Mancini's Chucky TV series have been successful enough to necessitate a third season. The new season, which will premiere on October 4, sees the murdering doll becoming a threat in the most secure building on Earth - the White House in Washington D.C.
Mancini had previously teased that he plans to have Chucky take a spacecraft to space, but he will only do that if there’s enough demand from the fans.
