Not many actors can say that they've starred in major franchises like the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Universe and Christian Bale happens to be part of the exclusive circle. Now, following his successful outings as Batman in The Dark Knight trilogy and most recently, Gorr the God Butcher in Thor: Love and Thunder, the multi-awarded actor apparently has his sights set on completing the "hat trick" after expressing his interest in the Star Wars franchise.

It turns out that Bale, just like a lot of us is a massive fan of the franchise and during a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he revealed that it has always been his dream to play a Stormtrooper in a Star Wars project and for a pretty hilarious reason.

However, if you'd ask the fandom, most of them believe that Bale is too big of an actor to be playing a clumsy trooper. His recent confession convinced many of them that he should play a different villain instead and that is none other than Grand Admiral Thrawn. The iconic Star Wars baddie is gearing up for his live-action debut in Ahsoka but Lucasfilm has yet to reveal which actor has been cast for the part.

Bale definitely has the range to play Thrawn in the Star Wars franchise but if recent reports are to be believed, Lars Mikkelsen is said to be the top choice to play the live-action counterpart of the Star Wars Rebels villain which of course makes a lot of sense, especially considering he voiced the character in the animated series.

Meanwhile, the official release date for Star Wars: Ahsoka has yet to be confirmed.
