Chris Hemsworth on Thor: Love and Thunder Physique is the Biggest He’s Ever Been

Thor considerably has seen the best and the worst of days with his story arc from being removed of the Mjolnir, to facing Malekith, to meeting his never-before-seen sister turned destroyer of Asgard, to joining the Avengers, to getting depressed losing to Thanos, to finally defeating Thanos, and to his new journey with the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Over the years, Thor's physical presentation of himself changes as well. Notably, his hair went on from long to being cut short in Thor: Ragnarok, to getting his long hair back again in the Avengers: Endgame.

What's more taking note of is the physique of Thor. From his usual fit and bulky Thor from the first three installments of Thor and the Avengers, we've all seen (and love) flabby version of Thor in the Avengers: Endgame who took it hard on himself and falling into the depression of losing to Thanos because he was not able to finish off the Mad Titan resulting to the snap.

In preparation for his MCU comeback, Chris Hemsworth is making sure that as he returns for the MCU, so will his great physique.

The stunt double of Chris Hemsworth, Bobby Holland Hanton, confirms that Hemsworth really bulked up for his MCU return and that this has been the biggest the actor has ever been as Thor. As the stunt double of Thor, Hanton is faced with the challenge to bulk up as well so they would share the same physique and stature.

Hanton also shared that they share the same diet and training. It is difficult for sure as Thor would be having back his God-like shape so as the double, Hanton has to step up his game despite the bulk being hard to maintain. He even called Hemsworth a "man mountain."

One thing is for sure, while we will all miss the chubby cute, and funny Thor we encountered in the Avengers: Endgame, it's great to finally have the fit and bulky Thor we all grew fond of back in the MCU.

Thor: Love and Thunder are scheduled for its theatrical release on May 6, 2022, directed by Taika Waititi starring Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster who would be the next to become Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and new ruler of Asgard, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, and the new villain in town, Christian Bale as Gore the God Butcher.
