While Benedict Cumberbatch's Sorcerer Supreme has appeared in multiple movies following the first Doctor Strange film, Mordo's whereabouts remain a mystery. Chiwetel Ejiofor's character was last seen in the post-credits of the movie, seemingly setting him up as a potential villain in the future. Now, the actor has confirmed that he'll be reprising his role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, excited for what's to come.

"He's coming on," Ejiofor told ComicBook.com. "I'm very, very excited about that."

"Obviously, we've been sort of interrupted as the whole world has been in the pandemic," he added. "But hopefully, we are back on track with that and continuing quite soon, so I'm very excited about it."

When asked where his character might have been during the battle against Thanos, as expected, Ejiofor was tight-lipped about it. However, he did tease that "all will be revealed."

The first movie saw Mordo's confliction upon learning that the Ancient One drew her power from the Dark Dimension. His mischievous deeds following the events of Doctor Strange will surface somewhere down the line, with the Multiverse of Madness most likely to show what he has been up to all this time.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was initially slated for a 2021 release but was delayed to March 25, 2022, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
