Charlie Cox Reportedly Reprising Daredevil for Spider-Man 3

As if Spider-Man 3 didn't have enough cast members already. After news broke out yesterday that original Spider-Men Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield would be coming back for Spider-Man 3, a new rumor has come out that another Marvel hero will be making his debut in the MCU.

According to Murphy's Multiverse, Charlie Cox will be reprising the role of Daredevil in Spider-Man 3. We don't know what kind of role he's going to play in the film, but counting that the movie is already as convoluted as it is, I would be fine if Cox just had a small cameo as Matt Murdock.

For now, it looks like Cox is the only character that's going to be salvaged from Marvel Netflix. Though that is the case, we shouldn't close the door when it comes to the return of other characters. Fans have been clamoring for the return of Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin, but I think Jon Bernthal's Punisher is also worth salvaging from that world.

Then again, these are just rumors for now; but with the way fans have been clamoring to #SaveDaredevil, bringing Cox back should be a good move on Marvel's part. He does play the part well, and they could easily just say this is an alternate version of Matt because of the Multiverse.

We don't know what kind of plot to expect with Spider-Man 3, but with all the cast members announced, I'm just hoping they don't fall into the trap of the previous Spider-Man films and fill in too many characters. With Marvel being able to pull of Avengers: Endgame though, they should find out how to pull the same magic with Spider-Man 3.

Catch Spider-Man 3 when it hits theaters on December 17, 2021.
