Who is Charlie Bushnell? Where Have You Seen Him Before?
Rick Riordan had long been pushing for a reboot of his Percy Jackson franchise, and thanks to Disney Plus, it's finally coming to fruition through Percy Jackson and the Olympians which releases this December 20th, just in time for the holidays.
The show features the likes of Walker Scobell, who plays the titular son of Poseidon, Leah Jeffries as Annabeth Chase, and Aryan Simhadri as Grover Underwood. Apart from the aforementioned names, we also have a couple more child actors to watch out for once the show premieres.
Charlie Bushnell happens to be one of them. To make things clear, Percy Jackson and the Olympians is not the actor's first Disney series to star in.
The first TV series Bushnell played in was Diary of a Future President, where he played the older brother of the titular character named Roberto "Bobby" Cañero-Reed.
The show explored Bobby's sexuality and identity across the two seasons back in 2020-2021 when he eventually came out to his parents as gay and started dating his crush, CJ (Donovin Miller).

Percy Jackson Series Paves Way For Charlie's Disney Comeback
As previously confirmed, Charlie Bushnell plays the role of Luke Castellan in Percy Jackson and the Olympians, the Greek demigod son of Hermes and May Castellan in the franchise.
Luke is one of the integral characters in the Percy Jackson books. Don't let the trailer fool you into thinking he's one of Percy's longtime best friends on Camp Half-Blood though. Luke has more to tell right up his sleeves.
In the meantime, he serves as one of Percy's first teachers on Camp in training to become one of the mightiest Half-Blood heroes.
The official synopsis for Percy Jackson and the Olympians series reads:
Percy Jackson & the Olympians tells the fantastical story of a 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson, who's just coming to terms with his newfound supernatural powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. Now, Percy must trek across America to find it and restore order to Olympus.
