Captain Marvel's Monica Rambeau is Appearing in WandaVision

With Vision dying in Infinity War, and staying dead, we kind of don't have a satisfying resolution to his romance with Scarlet Witch. What's interesting is, Disney+ is giving us exactly that with a miniseries called WandaVision. What's interesting is, the show will include a face from Captain Marvel.

During Marvel's San Diego Comic-Con panel (via Mr. Sunday Movies), it was revealed that the series will have an appearance from Monica Rambeau who is being played by Teyonah Parris (Dear White People). In Captain Marvel, Monica is just a little girl, so it would make sense that she would be all grown up for this series. We don't know how she ties into the show yet, but in the comics, she actually becomes her own superhero, first becoming the second Captain Marvel, then changing names from Photon, Pulsar, to Spectrum.

As of now, I can't imagine what kind of connection she'll have with either Scarlet Witch or Vision, but I guess Marvel has something up their sleeve. You'd think that she'd be introduced in a Captain Marvel film, but I guess this could be a nice jumping off point for the audience to get to know the character better so she won't feel underwritten in the Captain Marvel sequel.

Personally, I would love for this series to explore the depths of Wanda Maximoff's powers, and maybe she could end up altering reality like she did in House of M. That has got to be one of my favorite stories involving Scarlet Witch, and I would love to see what would happen if she managed to go all out for once.

WandaVision is set to debut on Disney+ on the spring of 2021.
