Captain Marvel Deleted Scene Shows Carol Fight 'Toxic Masculinity'

A deleted scene from Captain Marvel has found its way online as the digital and home video release of the film draws closer. Recently, an extended scene where she was approached by a man on a motorcycle as she studies a map to figure out where to go was released.

We see the man played by Robert Kazinsky offering help but urging Brie Larson's Carol Danvers to smile, which she definitely didn't like, so she proceeds to show who's boss.

Fans will remember that when the first trailer for Captain Marvel was released, some fans asked Larson to do the same. The actress then responded by sharing posters of the male characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe edited to show their teeth.

The Captain Marvel extended scene was first shared by USA Today who captioned the scene as the superhero "taking on toxic masculinity." You can check it out below.

This immediately reignited the controversy that marred the movie leading up to its release--the supposed social justice pandering and Larson's feminist agenda. Some think that the clip sends a message that portrays women negatively. Comparisons to Alita and Wonder Woman also re-emerged.

Some Twitter users can't help but notice the parallel to Terminator 2, where we see T-800 take the motorcycle, jacket, and boots of a biker who put out a cigar on his bare chest. Both bikers in these two movies helplessly shout "take it" as they hand their keys, hoping their life will be spared.

Despite the controversy, Captain Marvel made a billion dollars at the box office. There is a rumor that a sequel is on the agenda and that Larson's cosmic superhero will be the new face of the MCU following the departure of Tony Stark aka Iron Man played by Robert Downey Jr.

Captain Marvel will be available on Digital May 28 while the Blu-Ray and DVD will be out June 11.
