Marvel may have not released that many details about Captain Marvel 2, but ever since the studio announced that it was developing the Captain Marvel sequel, various reports have been sprouting left and right about the upcoming comic book movie.
Not only were there reports that Brie Larson's Carol Danvers might find herself replaced by Monica Rambeau, but there were also petitions begging Marvel to replace Larson's version of Captain Marvel with a woman of color. There were all sorts of rumors going around too, some saying that Miss Marvel/ Kamala Khan could very well make her MCU first appearance in Captain Marvel 2, while others suggesting that the film would introduce Beth Rider, Marvel's Female Nova.
Now, according to a new rumor making the rounds on 4chan (via Showbiz Cheat Sheet), Thor: Love and Thunder's Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) may appear in the upcoming Captain Marvel sequel. The report doesn't have too many details about Foster's cameo in Captain Marvel 2, however, it seems like it's important for the Mighty Thor to appear in the film before joining the rest of Marvel's girl gang in the planned A-Force movie.
Jane Foster is set to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Thor: Love and Thunder. There, fans are going to see Thor's (Chris Hemsworth) former lover take on the mantle of Mighty Thor and embark on a much larger journey in the MCU.
Of course, as exciting as it may seem to have Foster in Captain Marvel 2, fans ought to take the report with a grain of salt. We have to wait for confirmation from Marvel before anything else.
Captain Marvel 2 has yet to receive a release date. Phase 4 of the MCU begins when Black Widow premieres on May 1, 2020.
