Captain America Star Chris Evans Bashes 'Straight Pride'

While his days of wielding the shield are seemingly over, Chris Evans continues to embody the spirit and character of Captain America in his everyday life. The actor, who is a noted ally for the LGBTQ, spoke out against the people who feel like there should be a "Straight Pride Parade" in the same month as Pride Month. Like most rational people, Evans thinks that this is just a big excuse to be homophobic.

The Avengers: Endgame star sarcastically called it a "cool initiative," before burning the very concept of having a "Straight Pride" parade. Evans feels that the "Straight Pride" parade should be called the "desperately trying to bury our own gay thoughts by being homophobic because no one taught us how to access our emotions as children' parade."

Evans later shared a lengthy post from LA Times writer James Fell, who rightfully points out why people who want a "Straight Pride" parade are just bigots who want attention for being assholes. The Captain America star is less aggressive here, telling people "Instead of going immediately to anger(which is actually just fear of what you don't understand)take a moment to search for empathy and growth."

Captain America showed he was an ally of the LGBTQ during Avengers: Endgame when he happily listened to a man talk about how his date with another person of the same sex. We all knew that Evans was an ally but it is nice to see his character share the same sentiment during the film.

Avengers: Endgame might still be showing.
