A new set photo from the filming of Captain America: Brave New World revealed our first look at Giancarlo Esposito's highly-anticipated MCU debut.
The Emmy-nominated actor recently revealed that he is set to make his MCU debut, but he declined to provide details about the project and the role that he is playing during that time.
Since then, fans have been speculating on which type of character will Esposito play in the MCU, but the actor has hinted that it's a role that we won't predict and is not any of the characters that he's been fancast on.
First Look at Giancarlo Esposito on the Set of Captain America: Brave New World
Thanks to a new set photo that is making its waves online, we finally have our first look at Esposito's villain role in Captain America: Brave New World.
He is seen wearing shades, a black coat, and armor with built-in knife holsters. Based on his appearance, he is seemingly playing a soldier-type of character.

A recent report revealed that the MCU film is currently undergoing 22 days of reshoots to add new action sequences and include Esposito's new villainous character in the mix.
While the set photo didn't give us a clearer idea of who Esposito is playing, it is still a great tease of his appearance and it made fans more excited to see him finally join the MCU.
This also shot down any possibility of the actor playing a well-known Marvel character that he's been fancast with such as Doctor Doom, Charles Xavier, and Magneto since his costume doesn't indicate that he is portraying any of them.
Nevertheless, it is a promising look at what we could expect from Esposito's MCU debut, and we should watch out for more details about his role in the months leading up to the film's release early next year.
Captain America: Brave New World is slated for release in theaters on February 14, 2025.
