We haven't seen the Earth's Mightiest Heroes in action since Avengers: Endgame because, well, they've been quite busy doing their own thing. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness pretty much confirmed that the Avengers is still a thing, despite half of its original members already gone but as it stands, we're still being kept in the dark as to which heroes are part of the new lineup.

Given how the two crossover events in the Multiverse Saga — Avengers: Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars still have "Avengers" in their titles, it's already a no-brainer that we'll get to see the reinforced team join forces but it looks like we won't have to wait that long for them to be introduced.

According to a new rumor, we'll get our first taste of the "New Avengers" in Captain America: New World Order. Twitter insider @CanWeGetToast claims that the upcoming Phase Five film will see Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson assemble a new team to take down Harrison Ford's General Thunderbolt Ross who is rumored to debut his Red Hulk persona in the film.

Well, this pretty much indicates that the former Falcon has officially assumed the position as the Avengers' new leader which only makes sense considering the role previously belonged to Steve Rogers. Now, we don't know for sure which characters will make it to Sam's team but given how New World Order is a street-level flick, it would be safe to assume that the team Wilson is set to assemble will also feature street-level heroes.

Marvel Studios' Captain America: New World Order is slated for release in theaters on May 3, 2024.
