Shoes are the big bonding force that brings the kabaddi team together in the second episode of Burning Kabaddi!

After being forced to join the team, Tatsuya has been diligent in attending practices (even if he complains a lot) though he isn't getting much better and is constantly being tackled to the mat. During one practice session, though, he finally scores a point, but it also becomes apparent that Tatsuya needs new shoes. Going on a club outing, the team goes out to choose his new shoes and learns a bit more about why he left the soccer team after junior high.

As of this writing, the only place to watch Burning Kabaddi outside of Japan is Crunchyroll. No other streaming service has announced plans to simulcast this series.

Burning Kabaddi got off to a very rough start thanks to a premiere episode that made me dislike the entire primary cast of characters pretty much right away. It didn't help that the animation is not the best presentation of the season (it's not the worst, but still…). That said, this episode helped push the series further towards the positive side rather than the negative that it had made a comfortable home in after the first week.

While Tatsuya is still a little brat that you just love to hate right away, the rest of the team is coming together in a way that makes me feel more positive about them, much like the series at large. What helps matters the most is that the team is showing that they mean it when they say they're all in it together, and that makes a big difference.
