BTS is no longer a stranger to awards after the boy group dominated the international music scene.

Since their debut, BTS proved that a group from a non-Big 3 could also establish an empire outside South Korea. They continue making and breaking records in the industry after becoming a huge icon in Hollywood.

ARMYs might surely take a day or so to enumerate the boy group's achievements so far, and BTS added two more platinum records under their belt recently.

BTS Wows Japanese Fans With DNAPermission To Dance

The Chosun Media's official website confirmed this week that BTS earned platinum certifications from the Recording Industry Association in Japan (RIAJ). The group unsurprisingly managed to do so with their two hit songs, DNA and Permission To Dance.

The RIAJ did not specify how many streams both songs got that they became eligible to score the titles. However, it is worth noting that the certification-giving body follows a standard to determine the certification of a song or album.

RIAJ certifies songs using four categories: silver (30 million), gold (50 million), platinum (100 million), and diamond (500 million). It gives the corresponding certification based on the number of streams every month. Meanwhile, albums can be classified as gold (100,000 copies), platinum (250,000), and diamond (1 million).

BTS Earns Double Platinum In US

Aside from the RIAJ, BTS also reached another milestone after the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) announced the boy group received gold, platinum, and double platinum certifications for their hit single, Dynamite.

The song is their first single ever to attain a double-platinum certification and fourth to have platinum following MIC Drop, Boy With LUV, and IDOL.

Reaching double platinum in the US means BTS' Dynamite had a total of 2 million units in terms of sales, streams, and downloads.

Aside from the song, BTS' albums Love Yourself: Answer and Map of the Soul:7 both have two platinum certifications.

BTS still has a long way to go in the industry, but they have already achieved more than they once expected as musicians.
