Bruce Campbell offered a hilarious response as he addressed Pizza Poppa's absence in Deadpool & Wolverine.
The veteran actor famously made a cameo as Pizza Poppa in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as part of his long tradition to appear in a film helmed by his friend Sam Raimi.
While the character was simply just a one-off gag and won't have any ramifications for the MCU, some fans still would love to see more of him in the future and make more multiversal appearances.
Bruce Campbell on Pizza Poppa's Absence in Deadpool & Wolverine
In a recent interview, Campbell explained why his MCU character Pizza Poppa did not appear in Deadpool & Wolverine.
"He's not in that timeline. He's in a different timeline," he said.
The actor went on to roast Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman's bromance and joked about how it has become tiring for him.
Campbell added, "Well, here's what I say to Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. Get a room. What's with the bromance? We get it. Thank you. Next. Go back to your soccer team, Ryan."
It is obvious that the actor was just giving a playful response, but it is a reflection of how Reynolds and Jackman's bromance has become widespread as a result of their work in the film.
Since the project is not also under Raimi's direction, it's not surprising at all that Campbell did not reprise the role of Pizza Poppa even if his character is a multiversal gag and would have fit on the comedic nature of the film.
It would be curious to see whether Campbell will make more MCU appearances in the future whether it's Pizza Poppa again or another character, but it would be hilarious if he shared a scene with Deadpool and Wolverine and made a meta joke about their bromance on screen.
Deadpool & Wolverine is still showing in theaters everywhere.
