Box office classic Forrest Gump had taught us the life lesson that "Life is like a box of chocolates. You'll never know what you're gonna get." As it turns out, Bollywood is set to remake the film with Indian star Aamir Khan set to star. I bet no one knew we were going to get that.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie will be titled Lal Singh Chadha and Khan is set to star in the titular role. The project was unveiled last Thursday, to which Khan said, "We have bought the rights from Paramount… I have always loved Forrest Gump as a script. It is a wonderful story about this character. It is a feel-good film. It is a film for the whole family."

Forrest Gump was actually an original novel by Winston Groom and the movie was so popular that the book got a sequel called Gump & Co. The story follows simpleton Forrest Gump as he goes through the motions of his life and ends up being in every significant event in history by sheer accident. It's a good drama film with moments of comedy here and there.

We don't have any details on how this remake is going to push forward. My guess is it will have their new Gump showing up in significant moments in Indian history. Then again, I'm not really an expert on what kind of movies are hits in Bollywood. We do know that they've already tried adapting several Hollywood movies like Chef, Knight and Day, and the upcoming The Fault in Our Stars.

No release date has been set for the Bollywood remake of Forrest Gump a.k.a. Lal Singh Chadha.
