BoJack Horseman Creator Blames Netflix For Cancellation

Fans are still dealing with the recent cancellation of BoJack Horseman. But who is to blame for the show's unexpected demise? Creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg says that it was Netflix who decided to pull the plug on the animated series because he still had big plans for BoJack and the gang.

Bob-Waksberg recently spoke to Vulture, where he revealed that Netflix gave him a heads-up by telling him that Season 6 would be the last one for the series. Nevertheless, he admitted that he was surprised since he felt that the show could "go a couple years more."

We'll never truly know why Netflix chose to cancel BoJack Horseman. Nevertheless, Bob-Waksberg says he understood their decision.

"You know, it's a business. They've got to do what's right for them, and six years is a very healthy run for a TV show. Frankly, I'm amazed we got this far. It's a weird show and a lot of things on Netflix don't get second seasons."

Interestingly, Bob-Waksberg took time to praise Netflix for believing in the series.

"I also think Netflix had a lot of faith in it, and really believed in it, and gave it time to find that audience," he said. "And I really appreciated that.

We may still be disappointed that the series is ending but at least Bob-Waksberg seems to be OK with it because he managed to finish BoJack Horseman on his own terms. We're hoping that the last episodes will give the show the ending it deserves.

The first part of the final season is currently streaming on Netflix. The second half of BoJack Horseman Season 6 will air on January 31, 2019.
