BLACKPINK might be gearing up to produce a new album this year.

The YG Entertainment girl group has been making buzzes in the past months due to their record-breaking appearances and milestones. Unfortunately, their busy schedule kept them away from releasing new music.

For what it’s worth, fans heard from them for the last time when they dropped their hit Korean studio album, The Album, and its title track, Lovesick Girls.

After the constant rumors, a new report claimed that BLACKPINK’s comeback would happen in June.

BLACKPINK Coming Back With New Album in June

A Korean media outlet (via Allkpop), recently shared a report about BLACKPINK’s upcoming return with a new album.

The article detailed that the girl group plans to release their new music in June. On top of the update, even Jennie dropped a hint on her YouTube channel, asking fans to wait as BLACK “will come back soon.”

The upcoming new album will be the group’s first release in one year and six months, if it follows the June schedule.

Aside from her YouTube channel, Jennie also sparked comeback rumors when she debuted a new hair color earlier this month.

On Instagram, Jennie shared a photoset where she publicized her new hair color for the first time. The SOLO hitmaker sports an orange hair color that complements the flowers in front of her. For what it’s worth, most K-pop idols would not show their new hair or style to fans unless they had already confirmed a comeback.

BLACKPINK’s Song Leaked

Reports about BLACKPINK’s potential comeback started when Jeon So Mi accidentally recorded a “sneak peek” of the song while hosting an Instagram Live Session inside the YG Entertainment headquarters.

The Anymore hitmaker accidentally entered a studio where staff played an unreleased song. She closed the door to prevent the audio from being heard, but viewers still perceived the voice of a female singing its lyrics.

“[I hope you] didn’t hear anything, because I tried my best to close that door”. She added: “I’m very hot right now, ’cause I was very surprised. My heart dropped that second, so I was like, ‘Oh my god,’” she said.

YG Entertainment immediately took down the clip that was reuploaded and reposted multiple times. The archived clips also have since been removed due to copyright infringement.
