Black Widow Star Florence Pugh Reveals How Yelena's Fighting Style Differs from Natasha

If there's one thing that people know about Yelena Belova, it's the fact that she got the same training as Natasha Romanoff. However, it looks like this isn't necessarily the case. Black Widow star Florence Pugh has pointed out that her character has a distinctly different fighting style from Scarlett Johansson's Nat.

In Marvel's Black Widow: The Official Movie Special Book, an interview with Pugh reveals that she and the stunt team decided early on that Yelena would be someone who wants to complete her missions immediately.

"When I was starting to learn how to do some of the stunts and they were still designing where they were going to go and how the fight scenes were going to go, we all pretty much, especially the stunt team, were thinking that Yelena is more of a 'get the job done as quickly and as efficiently as possible' kind of girl," Pugh said. She also stated that this became a part of Yelena's personality.

"It's a common theme that happens throughout the film, I just make fun of Natasha's fighting stance, her fighting pose. I'm constantly throwing digs at her about how she does too much performance and not enough, well, getting the job done," Pugh said.

This is an interesting point considering that Nat does have a sense of flair to her. With that in mind, we can't wait to see both Nat and Yelena in action next year.

Black Widow is scheduled for release on May 07, 2021.
