Black Widow and Scarlett Johansson Gets Huge Oscar Push from Disney and Marvel


It has been less than a year since Scarlett Johansson and Disney were embroiled in an infamous lawsuit but it looks like the House of Mouse is ready to make it up to the Marvel Cinematic Universe actress. A new report confirms that Disney and Marvel Studios are pushing for Johansson to win the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in Black Widow. In addition to that, the studios are backing the MCU flick fully with several Oscar considerations!

Disney recently updated its For Your Consideration page where it is confirmed that Black Widow is one of the films that is getting a major push. As it turns out, the studio is pushing for Scarlett Johansson to be nominated for Best Actress at the upcoming Acadamy Awards.

The House of Mouse is also pushing Black Widow for more major categories. The film is being pushed for Best Picture and Cate Shortland is up for Best Director. Johansson's co-stars Florence Pugh, Olga Kurylenko, and Rachel Weisz are Best Supporting Actress hopefuls while David Harbour, O-T Fagbenle, William Hurt, and Ray Winstone are being pushed for Best Supporting Actor.

It's great to know that Disney is truly supporting Black Widow despite everything that happened with Scarlett Johansson. This goes to prove that the House of Mouse had full faith in the MCU flick.
