Black Panther 2 Trailer Holds an Impressive Record During Its First 24 Hours

During their recent San Diego Comic-Con Hall H presentation, Marvel Studios unveiled the first trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever which made a lot of fans excited and emotional to see the next chapter of the nation of Wakanda after the death of Chadwick Boseman's T'Challa as well as our first look at the big-screen debut of Namor the Sub-Mariner.

Now, according to Variety, the first trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has received 172 million views during its first 24 hours making it one of the MCU's top trailer debuts. It also nearly doubled the views of the first film which garnered 88 million back in 2017.

In addition, it also became a trending topic on social media as it garnered over 893,000 mentions including several names that are related to the film and the hashtag "#WakandaForever" held the no. 1 trending spot for over five consecutive hours.

As a result, Wakanda Forever is now one of the top trailer launches for an MCU film following Spider-Man: No Way Home, Thor: Love and Thunder, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.

It is impressive to hear that the first trailer for Wakanda Forever received this kind of number although it's also not surprising given the anticipation for the film and its emotional tone that made a lot of fans talk about it a lot on social media as well as rewatch it over and over again.

Obviously, the film will release another trailer later on closer to the release date and it would be interesting to see if it will receive the same numbers as the first one. Either way, the overwhelmingly positive responses to this are already a great start for the film's promotional campaign.
