Black Panther 2: Martin Freeman Uncertain About Everett Ross' Return in MCU Sequel

People already have a certain expectation when it comes to Black Panther 2, like the possibility that all of the main cast will be back for the sequel. However, Martin Freeman isn't quite sure if we'll get to see Everett Ross in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe flick.

Freeman was recently in attendance at the TCA Winter Press Tour to promote his new FX series Breeders (via Comicbook.com). However, the Captain America: Civil War star was also asked about his possible return in Black Panther 2 and interestingly, Freeman revealed he hasn't spoken to director Ryan Coogler just yet.

"I'm having to stop myself from writing to Ryan Coogler and going, 'Listen, mate, come on. What's happening? What's Everett Ross going to be doing?' Because I don't want to bug him and I don't want to be one of those annoying actors," Freeman admitted. "But, but yeah, I'm very keen to get back on it. And also I'm very intrigued as to what my character is going to be doing."

But is it possible that Freeman is simply trying to confuse Marvel fans? The Sherlock star claims he is telling the truth and is absolutely clueless as to what the future holds.

"I have literally no idea at all. And I don't know who does have an idea. But yeah, I kind of, I've been ghostwriting an email to Ryan in my head for the past few months. Because people are asking me about it," Freeman said.

We're hoping that Freeman gets an update soon. After all, Ross worked so well with the Wakandans and it would be awesome to see him back in action in the sequel.

Black Panther 2 has not yet been given an official release date but is expected to premiere in May 2022.
