Black Adam Star The Rock Likens The Antihero To Superman Except That He Kills

Shazam! was quite the hit when it released in cinemas earlier this year. Not only did it introduce the DCE Extended Universe's Captain Marvel (Zachary Levi) and the Shazam family, but it also teases the arrival of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's very own DC antihero, Black Adam.

Earlier this week, The Rock appeared at the MTV Movie and TV Awards to receive the Generations Awards. Speaking with MTV at the red carpet after the event, The Rock decided to open up about his DC character and the similarities the Shazam villain has with Superman.

According to Johnson, Black Adam has more or less the same powers as everyone's favorite Kryptonian Boy Scout – the only difference is that Superman doesn't kill anyone as Black Adam does.

"Also, Black Adam has the same powers as Superman. That's f'n crazy, man! I mean think about that! That's why it's so cool and exciting. He has the same powers as Superman," the Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle star explained in his interview with the entertainment news outlet, "The only difference is Superman, of course, with his DNA, he doesn't kill anyone in his ethos, but Black Adam does [laughs menacingly]."

DC fans might contest Johnson's answer, but the actor is kind of right. Like Superman and like Shazam, Black Adam has unlimited stamina, super strength, super speed, and the power of flight. Sure, he doesn't have x-ray vision, cold breath, enhanced hearing, and heat vision, but Black Adam has power where it matters.

We can't wait to see what Black Adam might do when he finally appears on the big screen.
