Last week, we reported that Person of Interest star Sarah Shahi is Warner Bros. Picture's top choice to star in DC's upcoming Black Adam film opposite Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in an undisclosed role. Now, in a new development, Shahi has apparently taken WB's offer to appear in the superhero film which is set to explore the mighty mortal's origins.

According to a report from Deadline, Shahi's involvement in Black Adam is already a lock although they didn't exactly confirm which character she will play. The entertainment website simply states that Shahi will play a "university professor and freedom fighter leading the resistance in Kahndaq." An earlier report from The Illuminerdi suggested that she was set to take on the role of Isis, Black Adam's frequent love interest, and while that still isn't exactly out of question, she could still end up portraying a different role. Other details about her casting are still being kept under wraps.

It's still unclear when we're getting The Rock's first-ever outing in the DC Extended Universe since Warner Bros. inexplicably removed the project from their current schedule but fans need not worry as the film is obviously still pushing through despite all the delays it has encountered. The former WWE superstar hasn't given us updates regarding the film but I'm pretty sure he and the team behind it are already working on it. I guess we'll just have to wait for further announcements but for now, let's just relish over the fact that Black Adam is finally coming to the DCEU.
