There may have been initial doubters but DC's latest superhero film offering Black Adam continues to captivate audiences around the world. The final film of the "Walter Hamada era" just crossed $300 million at the box office but it looks like a certain ban could put a stop to the Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson epic.

According to a rumor posted on the forums of BoxOfficeTheory.com, Black Adam has been banned in China and will no longer show in the country as previously expected. According to an anonymous user who went by the username "Isaac Newton", the DCU film has failed to secure the Chinese market because of a remark made by Doctor Fate actor Pierce Brosnan.

In an interview with GQ Magazine last month (via Comic Book Resources), the 69-year-old actor apparently told an anecdote about a meeting he once had with the Dalai Lama which might have angered the Chinese audience. As it stands, Warner Bros. Discovery has yet to address the rumored ban and confirm its legitimacy.

However, Black Adam is still interestingly listed on Chinese databases and social media for a November release so there may not be any truth to the concerning rumor after all.

Of course, losing the Chinese market is a big deal to production studios like WB Discovery because a film like Black Adam will lose its box office potential because of the said ban. Hopefully, that's not the case because the film deserves to be seen by as many fans as possible.

DC's Black Adam is still screening in cinemas worldwide.
