Black Adam Could Reportedly Introduce Green Lantern in the DCEU

There is little doubt that everyone is already looking forward to Dwayne Johnson's debut as Black Adam. But is it possible that the highly-anticipated DC Extended Universe film will feature a new version of a comic book superhero? A new report claims that Green Lantern will be introduced in the upcoming flick.

The report comes from We Got This Covered, which cites anonymous sources claiming that Warner Bros. is already looking for the perfect actor to play Green Lantern in Black Adam. Interestingly, the studio is said to be eyeing Avengers: Endgame star Chris Hemsworth to play the superhero. If this is the case, there is a huge possibility that we're getting a new version of Hal Jordan really soon.

The idea of casting Hemsworth as Green Lantern is an interesting one but the report also points out that the studio might be planning to find a younger actor for the role. In this case, it suggests that the Thor: Ragnarok star's brother Liam Hemsworth would be an excellent choice.

Reintroducing Hal into the DCEU isn't a strange thought. After all, Ryan Reynolds has famously refused to reprise the role in the future. On the other hand, it's important to point out that the news has not yet been confirmed so it would be best to take it with a grain of salt.

Black Adam does not yet have an official production start date. Nevertheless, the film is already scheduled for release in December 2021.
