While a lot of people are looking to June for the release of Wonder Woman 1984, next month will be giving us Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). While fans are waiting for the next trailer, it's possible that we now know the runtime of DC's first-ever all-woman team-up.
This comes from @DCEUPosts:
At 109 minutes, that puts the film at an hour and 49 minutes, making it the shortest film in the DCEU library. Since Man of Steel, every DC entry has exceeded 2 hours, with Batman v Superman the longest one surpassing 3.
Of course, this is just news based on a rumor, and it's still likely that the film could have a different runtime than what was reported.
We don't know what that means for the story entirely, but I don't think it should be a big issue. If director Cathy Yan is fine with the cut of the film, then, by all means, she should push forward with it. I wouldn't want a movie longer than 2 hours filled with some unnecessary scenes or needless action.
Though Suicide Squad turned out to be a mess, a lot of fans loved Margot Robbie's version of Harley Quinn. Harley has actually been the key selling point to this movie over the past few months, but I'm eager to meet the rest of the Birds team including Huntress, Black Canary, Cassandra Cain, and Det. Renee Montoya. Fingers crossed we get some kind of Gotham City Sirens teaser during the mid-credits.
Catch Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) when it comes out Feb. 7.
