Best Halloween Skins Overwatch

Halloween has come to Overwatch for 2021. And they've introduced 8 new skins to celebrate the season. We'll give you a brief rundown of all the new looks that are available. You can decide which ones you love, and which ones you don't.

Reinhardt Draugr

Our personal favorite. A Draugr is a creature from Old Norse mythology and folktale. These are the undead of Vikings that have risen from their Cairns to walk the world. Apparently, they possess superhuman strength, and the ability to increase their size at will. When awakened, they were filled with anger and bloodlust. This Draugr is a suitably fierce-looking character, who looks like he may have experienced battle before death, and is now back for more.

Vampire Bat

Echo has been given a vampire bat costume to tear things up in. As you probably already know, Echo is an artificial intelligence with the power of flight, so a bat seems like an appropriate choice of skin for her. The black and red theme is suitably dark and menacing, with plenty of sharp edges and pointy bits to finish the look.

Skeleton

Skeleton Genji is the first skin on our list that can only be acquired through the completion of the weekly challenges. This marks a departure from Genji's ‘usual' Halloween attire, which tended to be a cyborg-ninja theme. This year, he's rocking the Day of the Dead neon-skeleton vibe, wearing an all-black ensemble, with yellow and orange bones giving a splash of color.

Vampire Hunter

It stands to reason that where there's a vampire, there needs to be a vampire hunter. Given we've had Van Helsing in the past, it's nice to see Brigitte get the vampire hunter treatment. A darker look than she normally wears, the long coat, the skulls, and the ghostly white hair give a look that is well suited to Halloween.

Coffin

It's entirely appropriate that Bastion has a zombie hand bursting out of a coffin. But of course, the real star of the show is the skeleton version of Ganymede. What's not to love?

Satyr

Lucio can be an extremely annoying opponent, so seems well-suited to be given a Satyr skin for Halloween. In Classical mythology, Satyrs were half-man, half-goat, and well known for making mischief wherever they could. The flashes of red give Lucio a far more menacing appearance than usual.

Clown Roadhog

If you have coulrophobia, this one is probably best avoided. But there's something inherently unsettling about a clown, making this a strong choice for Halloween. Another skin that is only available through the weekly challenges, Clown Roadhog is pretty intense. The painted face on his stomach, with spiky teeth, telling people to ‘Smile' gets extra points for its creepiness.

Einherjar

The Einherjar (which translates as "army of one") were Viking warriors who had made it to Valhalla after dying in battle. For Zarya, this outfit is basically leather and fur. We aren't entirely sure that this sufficiently represents what a Norse warrior would look like, especially at Halloween. But hey, it's a new look, and if you like Zarya, who is pretty badass, why wouldn't you get it? Available by completing weekly challenges.

So there you have it. Eight new skins, available from now until November 2nd, while the Halloween Terror event plays out. It's worth mentioning that skins from previous Halloween events are also available, many at a discount. So if you missed out before, you get another chance to bag a favorite.
