A few weeks ago, The CW renewed several of their shows including The Flash and Superman & Lois. However, the fate of the rest of the Arrowverse/DC shows in the network is still unknown and a lot have been wondering if they actually have a chance for renewal at all given the delayed decision. Now, a new report has confirmed that their future is indeed in limbo and there's a chance that they might not return at all.
According to Deadline, out of Batwoman, DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Naomi, and the Gotham Knights pilot which are all currently in consideration for pick-up next season, they've heard that only half of them will make it next season. Given that Batwoman and Gotham Knights are in a similar universe, there is a chance that only one of them will be picked up for next season.
In the case of DC's Legends of Tomorrow, it is apparently a difficult decision for the network since the series is getting old and they have gone through a series of cast changeovers. While they might give it a chance to have one last season to have a proper goodbye, with the network's ownership also in uncertainty, there is a chance that it might also not happen at all.
There are still a few weeks left for The CW to make a decision on the shows' renewal as the upfront is set to be held on May 19 where they are going to announce their plans and schedule for the next season. Given that a lot of their shows have already been renewed, there are only a few slots lefts for them and it is very unlikely that all of them will get renewed. The other shows on the network, The 4400, Dynasty, Legacies, and Charmed, are also currently in limbo.
Right now, it's hard to guess what The CW will end up deciding on those shows. There is a strong case for each of them regarding why they have a chance to be picked up for next season. Whatever decision they will make, there's going to be a lot of passionate reactions from fans of each show. We should be able to find out the official decisions very soon.
