Batman Forever Star Jim Carrey Reportedly MCU-Bound as Iconic Captain America Villain

It seems like almost every actor in Hollywood wants to jump in on the Marvel bandwagon and with Phase Four slowly taking shape, Marvel Studios will most certainly be introducing new characters to the fold which of course means that it's only a matter of time before our favorite Hollywood A-listers make their way to the billion-dollar franchise.

Speaking of, a new rumor is making the rounds all over social media claiming that acting legend Jim Carrey is headed to the MCU during its fourth phase. According to a recent post from the moderator team on the Marvel Studios Spoilers subreddit (via The Direct), the star of The Mask will be appearing in multiple MCU projects as the villain MODOK.

Now, considering MODOK is a known foe of Captain America, one would assume that the character could be making his first appearance in the upcoming Captain America 4 headlined by the new Star-Spangled Man Sam Wilson. However, according to the said scoop, Carrey could appear as early as next year in She-Hulk. Another source claims that the villain will also be featured in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.

Longtime fans of Jim Carrey are well aware that he is already no stranger to the world of comic book films, having starred in 1995's Batman Forever as The Riddler. Casting him as MODOK would be a tremendous move on the studio's part and I strongly believe that Carrey possesses the right mix of wit and intelligence to effectively portray the character. And let's face it, his MCU arrival has been way long overdue.

Meanwhile, Hulu released the animated series M.O.D.O.K. centered on the character earlier this year.
