The fourth episode titled "It's Impossible" showed Babe Paley (played by Naomi Watts) discussing her results with the doctor, who tells her that her cancer has zero chance of shrinking away.

This rattled Babe, more so when the doctor warned her that even if she plans on refraining from radiation treatment for her cancer, she doesn't have that long to live.

While the Feud: Capote vs the Swans series took creative liberties in some episodes, the base story still exists in each episode, one truer than the last. This also happens to include Babe Paley planning her funeral.

According to Vanity Fair, Paley marked down the flowers, food, and wine to be served at her funeral luncheon, and handpicked her own pieces of jewelry collection to be given to her friends and family once she passed away.

Considering that she knew that her husband, William S. Paley, had been having an affair, Capote lent his shoulder for her to cry on.

To save face, she did not bring up the doctor's news to her friends, which tells us one thing: Babe knew she had a "perfect image" to protect from society and among her close friends.

Babe Paley met her demise when she was just about to turn 63.

While many were led to believe that she died in a tragic car accident, it was quite the opposite.

Instead of letting the incident break her down, it lifted her spirits as it became her turning point in life before joining the fashion industry.

She did, however, die when she was battling cancer. Babe was diagnosed with lung cancer in 1974 and eventually passed away on July 6, 1978, a day before her 63rd birthday.

Babe was laid to rest in the Memorial Cemetery of St. John's Church in Cold Spring Harbor, New York. Meanwhile, her husband William Paley died in 1990, buried next to her.
