Avengers: Endgame Theory Suggests Captain America Will Not Be The One To Die

The fate of our heroes in Avengers: Endgame is still a mystery. Nevertheless, the same idea seems to be popular with fans: Captain America or Iron Man could meet their end in the Marvel Cinematic Universe flick. But is it possible that Steve Rogers will not be the biggest casualty this April? A new theory suggests that Cap isn't the one we will lose this year.

The theory was posted on Reddit and suggests that a different member of the original 6 Avengers will make the ultimate sacrifice to save the world. According to the theory, there are two reasons why Tony Stark is the most likely candidate to take one for the team. First, it is pointed out that since Tony is currently hanging out with Nebula, he could be the first person who could learn how the Soul Stone works.

"While battling Thanos on Titan, Nebula told Quill that Thanos came back with the stone but not Gamora. I am quite confident to say that she has some knowledge about a sacrifice being the price to obtain the Soul Stone, to which she tells Tony on Titan, after Infinity War. Thus, Tony will know that the Stone demands a sacrifice," they wrote.

The second reason is that Steve could sacrifice Tony since Iron Man is the one he truly loves the most at the moment. With Bucky and Falcon gone, the closest friend that Steve has is Tony and could be the only way that they could ever get their hands of the Soul Stone.

It's an interesting theory but it's important to point out that this is still based on speculations. With that in mind, it's best to take this with a grain of salt.

The synopsis for Endgame reads as follows:

"Following the events of Avengers: Infinity War, the universe lies in shambles and the remaining Avengers and their allies must reassemble to repair the damage caused by Thanos and bring harmony back to the universe."

Avengers: Endgame will premiere on April 26.
