Avengers: Endgame IMAX Standee Shows Captain Marvel Leading The Team

Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo may have promised to focus on the original six Avengers in the second entry in their two-part Avengers movie, but that doesn't mean Marvel can't have fun playing around with the film's marketing campaign.

Now that the film is fast approaching its release date, Marvel has begun spreading out promotional material and paraphernalia to the public. Theaters have been receiving more and more collateral for Endgame, one of which includes an IMAX standee putting Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) at the very head of the team.

The standee which has been shared on Reddit shows Captain Marvel in the very beginning of an Avengers sign. Though it might not mean much seeing the Marvel Cinematic Universe's strongest Avenger being placed smack dab in the middle of the A in Avengers, some fans have been taking it as a sign that Captain Marvel may very well play some sort of leadership role in the film.

Of course, fans can expect some pretty major scenes with Captain Marvel in Endgame. Marvel Studios didn't just build up Carol Danvers for nothing. A lot of fans are expecting the former pilot to come kicking down Thanos' (Josh Brolin) butt in Endgame.

Still, this doesn't necessarily mean that Captain Marvel will overshadow the original six Avengers. Marvel might just give her a few major scenes here and there, but in the end, the film will still focus on the heroes who began the franchise.

Avengers: Endgame is set to premiere on April 26, 2019.
