Avengers: Endgame Directors Review Taika Waititi’s New Movie, Jojo Rabbit

It looks like Joe and Anthony Russo have great things to say about Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi's latest film, Jojo Rabbit.

Taking to Twitter right after Jojo Rabbit took home its win at the Toronto International Film Festival, the Marvel directors behind Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame decided to share their thoughts on Waititi's latest outing.

Jojo Rabbit is a black coming-of-age comedy that tells the story of a young boy in Nazi Germany who has imaginary Hitler for a playmate, and while the film has received mixed reviews from critics, it seems like the Russo brothers have nothing but great things to say about the movie.

"This is such a beautifully made, absurdly poignant, scathing indictment of hate," the Russo Brothers wrote in their post on Twitter, "You will have to search far and wide for a film as unique, important, and timely as Jojo Rabbit. Go see this film the minutes it is in a theater near you..."

For those who aren't familiar with Waititi's work outside of Thor: Ragnarok, the director is often known for whimsical indie films like the horror comedy What We Do In The Shadows and Hunt for the Wilderpeople. This new movie, Jojo Rabbit, seems to have more or less the same feel as Waititi's other films.

Right now Jojo Rabbit's critic score on Rotten Tomatoes comes up to 74% with its consensus describing the film as a "blend of irreverent humor and serious ideas." Though the film doesn't seem to be to everyone's taste, it seems like it's getting a lot of traction online.
