One of the best things about owning Marvel's Infinity Saga box set is having access to all the amazing behind-the-scenes videos and images. Interestingly, a pre-VFX image from Avengers: Age of Ultron actually shows a pregnant Black Widow.
The photo was shared on Reddit and it shows Chris Evans' Captain America walking alongside Scarlett Johansson's Natasha Romanoff. Although there shouldn't be anything strange about the shot, the picture also shows Black Widow with a baby bump. Take a look at the image below.

So does this mean that Nat was supposed to be pregnant in Age of Ultron? This isn't the case with this particular photo. As it turns out, Johansson was pregnant with her daughter while filming back in 2014. However, the special effects team erased her baby bump.
There were several ways that Marvel Studios dealt with Johansson's pregnancy while Age of Ultron was in production. In addition to using visual effects, the studio decided on more close-ups for Black Widow as well as concealing costumes. Stunt doubles were also brought in to stand in for Johansson.
Luckily, Johansson didn't need to go through the same conditions while working on Black Widow. Unfortunately, it looks like the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe flick will be the last time we get to see the Avengers: Endgame actress as the beloved character.
Johansson will return as Natasha Romanoff in Black Widow. The film also stars Florence Pugh, David Harbour, O-T Fagbenle, William Hurt, Ray Winstone, and Rachel Weisz. Catch Nat back in action on May 1.
