While you might still be reeling from the events of Avengers: Endgame, Marvel Studios isn't resting on its laurels and is already planning for the next slate of films. One of which will be the fifth Avengers film.

As you will recall, Disney recently released its movie release schedule up to the year 2027. At least eight of the films are of the Marvel Cinematic Universe but did not specify which is which.

However, a leak on Instagramreportedly from writer and film critic John Campea as per Cosmic Book News, supposedly reveals what these films are, and it turns out Avengers 5 is one of them. That film is apparently set for release on July 29, 2022.

The films that will come before it are in this order of release: Black Widow, Doctor Strange 2, The Eternals, Black Panther 2, Shang-Chi, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and Captain Marvel 2.

No official announcements have been made by Marvel. Campea also has a hit-and-miss track record, so we suggest you take this report with a pinch of salt.

Last year, Disney CEO Bob Iger hinted the possibility of more Avengers films after Endgame. "We meet on a regular basis with our Marvel team, and we've plotted out Marvel movies that will take us well into the next decade," he said during a conference call.

"I'm guessing we will try our hand at what I'll call a new franchise beyond Avengers, but that doesn't necessarily mean you won't see more Avengers down the road. We just haven't made any announcements about that," he went on to say.

Iger pointed out that Avengers: Endgame is simply the "significant conclusion" to the story that started in the 2008 Iron Man film, not the end of the Avengers movie franchise.

Cosmic Book News speculates that Avengers 5 could very well be Secret Wars. With Spider-Man: Far From Home teasing the existence of the multiverse in the MCU, the fifth Avengers film might mark the arrival of X-Men and Fantastic Four characters.
