Avatar 2 Star Is Ready To Defeat Avengers: Endgame And Reclaim Box Office Record

Avengers: Endgame is officially the highest-grossing movie of all time after defeating Avatar at the box office. However, the new star of Avatar 2 believes that the Marvel Cinematic Universe film's record will be broken by the sequels he is working on.

Cliff Curtis is currently promoting his new film Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw but he's already looking forward to his next project beating some records. The Doctor Sleep star told Comicbook.com that although he's impressed with what Endgame has accomplished, he's already looking forward to the Avatar franchise to take back the record.

"Mind you, my perspective is because I'm an Avatar family, they came into that with 20 movies. And I think, you know, I can't wait to see what happens," Curtis said. "Avatar's one movie. I can't wait to see what happens with two, three, four and five. What's going to happen? I'm so excited."

It's cool to see that Curtis is already feeling competitive. After all, he's playing Tonowari, the leader of the reef people clan of Metkayina in the two Avatar sequels. Nevertheless, Curtis admitted that Cameron and producer Jon Landau took the first film's defeat to Endgame graciously.

"You know, Jim, James Cameron and Jon Landau, they're very classy men and they salute the accomplishments of -- we got an email -- they salute the accomplishments of Marvel," he shared.

We're certainly wondering if Avatar 2 and the succeeding sequels can match the first movie's success. Either way, the clear winner is undoubtedly Disney.

Avatar 2 is scheduled for release on December 17, 2021.
