In a shocking turn of events, Attack on Titan will be ending with its fourth season, due out in 2020. The third season just aired and it managed to win back some fans who thought that both the anime and manga had gotten a bit convoluted. Considering how the manga is still ongoing, fans are rather surprised that the anime will be ending next year, though others have stated that the manga is reaching its climax so that might be coming to a close as well.
All we have is a short teaser that can be seen above, which has Mikasa saying something about Erin before a mysterious character is then shown behind bars for a split second. Some dramatic piano music plays and we see Levi, along with some of his friends, preparing to attack a Titan as the confirmation of the show's final season appears.
Though the show and manga have diminished in popularity, they're far from being obscure and are still fairly popular with kotakus everywhere. You can still see fans cosplaying as certain characters in cons and there are even new video games based on the series coming out, including a revamped version of Attack on Titan 2.
