There have been multiple unsubstantiated rumors on social media regarding the cancelation of the series. The rumors stemmed from the attacks on the MAPPA staff which apparently pushed the studio to cancel the series. Fortunately, all the cancelation rumors are unfounded. However, there have been some viewers attempting to boycott or ‘cancel' the series on social media using extremely-negative criticism.

The issue started ever since MAPPA took over the fourth season of the anime. WIT Studio handled the animation of the first three seasons of the show. WIT Studio certainly did a phenomenal job with the animation, although there were some misses once in a while.

There were fans who were not happy with the animation from MAPPA while other fans are satisfied. Nonetheless, there is a small group of people who are loud enough on social media to cause some ruckus. These people were not only giving feedback of criticizing the animation, but they are also adamant in harassing staff members of MAPPA.

MAPPA Responds to Toxic Attack on Titan Fans

One of the staff members of MAPPA responded to the harassment. The staff asked people to stop harassing the staff members. In the response, it is clear that the staff member believes that people are entitled to their opinion and have the right to criticize whatever they want. However, the issue was the harassment, insults, and threats thrown at the staff members whenever a new episode comes out.

Personally, I believe that not everyone will have the same tastes and criticisms are always acceptable. Feedback is necessary to improve and create better output. However, harassment is a different issue and is not acceptable.

Attack on Titan Season 4 releases episodes every Sunday.
