Attack on Titan and Demon Slayer Actor Tests Positive for COVID-19

The world might be moving forward after the pandemic last year but that doesn't mean that we are all safe from the disease. People from all walks of life can still end up contracting the virus up to this day. Unfortunately, a voice actor who is known and loved for his work on Attack on Titan and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has just tested positive for COVID-19.

Japanese outlet Livedoor News has reported that Hiro Shimono has tested positive for COVID-19. The news was confirmed by Shimono's agency and the voice actor himself issued a statement about the matter.

"When I visited a medical institution today on July 2 and underwent a PCR test, it was confirmed that it was positive," Shimono said in the statement. "Currently, we are confirming the existence of close contacts, but in the future, we will continue to receive medical treatment and follow-up under the guidance of health centers and medical institutions."

We're hoping for Shimono's speedy recovery. After all, he has several projects to work on including the final season of Attack on Titan. Shimono is also the voice of Zenitsu in Demon Slayer and will have to return in Season 2. He also provides the voice of Dabi in My Hero Academia Season 4.
